- Wednesday, August 20th there will be a meet and greet event at the Village on the Cannon, 301 7th St. W., hosted by Nancy Cantwell. Come have a glass of lemonade and talk about Northfield’s future!

- On Friday, August 22nd there is a meet and greet event at Tiny’s Dogs All Day at 321 Division Street from 6-8 p.m. Have a dog or a soda and talk politics with Mary and other downtown retailers!
Meet Mary
Friday, August 8, 2008It seems that everyone in Northfield wants to talk about the upcoming elections, and that includes ME! There are numerous events scheduled leading up to the September 9th primary where we can meet and we can talk about your concerns and ideas for moving Northfield forward. I hope to see you at one of them.
The first public event is scheduled for Sunday, August 10th from 2:00-4:30 p.m. at the Grand Event Center, 300 Union Street, and is being organized by the Union of Youth. They are calling it “Speed Candi-Dating”, which is a clever concept. The mayoral candidates will remain stationary in the room while groups of attendees move from one person to the next after having 15-20 minutes of conversation. This will be a fun way for us to get to know each other....

As a local business owner and long-time resident I have watched closely as our town has changed, grown, and redefined itself over recent years. Northfield is indeed a very special place to live, to work, to raise a family, and to cultivate an amazing group of friends. But there are some significant challenges ahead as we decide how best to use our limited resources. Replacing aged facilities, infrastructure, and outdated ideas of what we can be are some of the issues that we will need to tackle together....
